CODE OF CONDUCT

SPSMUN is committed to creating a conference environment that is safe, inclusive, and respectful for all participants. We expect all attendees, including delegates, advisors, staff, and volunteers, to adhere to the following code of conduct.

Respect and Inclusivity:

At SPSMUN, we value and respect the diversity of our participants. We expect everyone to treat each other with respect, regardless of their background, ethnicity, gender, religion, sexual orientation, or any other characteristic. We foster an inclusive environment where everyone feels valued and heard. Discrimination in any form, including race, religion, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, or disability, will not be tolerated.

Professionalism:

Maintaining professionalism is essential at SPSMUN. We expect all participants to conduct themselves in a professional manner throughout the conference. This includes engaging in constructive and diplomatic dialogue, promoting collaboration and understanding among delegates. Personal attacks, derogatory language, and any form of harassment are strictly prohibited. We uphold the highest standards of ethical behaviour and integrity.

Gender-Based Violence and Harassment:

SPSMUN has a zero-tolerance policy for gender-based violence and harassment. We are committed to creating a safe space for everyone, free from any form of harassment or discrimination. Participants are expected to treat each other with dignity and respect. Any incidents or concerns regarding gender-based violence or harassment should be reported immediately to the designated conference staff, who will handle the situation with utmost sensitivity and confidentiality.

Diversity and Inclusion:

We embrace and celebrate the diversity of our participants. SPSMUN is a platform where individuals from different backgrounds come together to engage in meaningful discussions and foster understanding. We encourage open-mindedness, empathy, and the recognition of the value that diverse perspectives bring to the conference. Discrimination or exclusion based on any personal characteristics is strictly prohibited.

Participants who fail to comply with the code of conduct may face appropriate disciplinary action. This can include a verbal warning, removal from committee sessions, or, in severe cases, expulsion from the conference. The severity of the consequences will depend on the nature and frequency of the violation. SPSMUN reserves the right to take necessary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.

By participating in SPSMUN, you agree to abide by this code of conduct and contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive conference environment for all attendees.

DIGITAL ETIQUETTE GUIDELINES

At SPSMUN, we recognize the importance of technology in facilitating a productive and engaging conference experience. To ensure responsible and appropriate use of technology during the conference, we have established the following guidelines:

It is strictly prohibited to use the internet for any purpose other than research. Delegates are expected to refrain from activities unrelated to their conference responsibilities, such as browsing social media, engaging in personal communication, or accessing non-relevant websites.

Please note that the conference organizers will not provide internet. Delegates are responsible for making their own arrangements to ensure connectivity if required.

Failure to comply with the above guidelines will result in appropriate consequences, as determined by the conference organizers:

It is crucial for all delegates to uphold this code of conduct in order to maintain a fair and respectful environment throughout the conference. The use of technology should be limited to research and activities directly related to the conference's agenda, as outlined in the guidelines above.
